F1 Jordan 196 Original Rolling Chassis 1996, Rubens Barrichello

 An original Jordan 196 Formula 1 rolling chassis with authentic Grand Prix history (full chassis history to be published separately).

Following its active Grand Prix career, this chassis enjoyed a truly remarkable second life. For many years, the car formed part of a private collection and was displayed inside a residential property in Milan, positioned as a design and art object in the living room. During this period, the car was finished in a red colour scheme.

When the property was sold, the car had to be removed, marking the start of a comprehensive and meticulous restoration, which commenced in 2025. The chassis was completely disassembled, with the clear objective of returning the Jordan 196 to its correct original specification, including the iconic Benson & Hedges livery and all period-correct sponsors as used by the Jordan team during the 1996 Formula 1 season.

The restoration was carried out with exceptional attention to detail and originality. The chassis has been refinished in the correct Benson & Hedges metallic colours. All wishbones and carbon components have been professionally treated and finished with a clear lacquer, as has the complete bodywork. The original OZ Formula 1 wheels are finished in gold metallic and fitted with the correct Goodyear Formula 1 slick racing tyres.

From a technical standpoint, the car is highly complete and correctly assembled:

• Equipped with differential and gearbox

• Complete front and rear suspension assemblies present

• Brake discs fitted all round

• Racing seat, safety harnesses, and paddle box installed

The bodywork is in as-new condition, free from any damage, and the car now presents itself as a reference-grade Jordan Formula 1 chassis — ideal for display, collection, or high-end motorsport heritage use.
