An exceptional opportunity to acquire a highly competitive Formula Renault V6 3.5, boasting an impressive racing record, two BOSS GP championship titles and an extensive maintenance history.

Built in 2003, chassis 021 represents an exciting era of single-seater racing. Developed for the Formula Renault V6 Eurocup, the car combines advanced aerodynamics, a powerful naturally aspirated V6 engine and Formula 1-inspired technology, including paddle-shift transmission and torsion bar suspension.

Racing History & Provenance

Chassis 021 has enjoyed an extensive international racing career, competing in both Asia and Europe.

During the late 2000s, the car participated in the Formula Renault V6 Asia championship. Although its original European racing team from the Formula Renault V6 Eurocup era has not yet been identified, its subsequent history is well documented.

Following its racing career in Asia, the car returned to Europe, where it remained in a private collection for approximately 12 years. During this period, it received its striking Renault F1-inspired livery, celebrating Fernando Alonso’s World Championship victories in 2005 and 2006.

In 2021, the car returned to the circuit for several track days with an Austrian racing team.

The following year, Austrian driver Alexander Geier competed with chassis 021 in the BOSS GP championship.

In December 2022, the car was acquired by its current owners, marking the beginning of an exceptionally successful period in BOSS GP.

From 2023 through 2025, chassis 021 competed with WF Racing, driven by Henry Clausnitzer, achieving outstanding results in the BOSS GP Super Lights category.

Championship Achievements

  1. 2023 | BOSS GP Super Lights Champion
  2. 2024 | BOSS GP Super Lights Vice Champion
  3. 2025 | BOSS GP Super Lights Champion

During these three seasons, the car competed in 30 BOSS GP races, achieving a remarkable 100% podium finish record.

This exceptional consistency demonstrates both the competitiveness and reliability of chassis 021.

Engine & Transmission
  • At the heart of the car is the naturally aspirated 3.5-litre Renault/Nissan VQ35 V6 engine.
  • Originally producing approximately 370 hp, the engine has been further developed, with recent dynamometer testing indicating an output approaching 400 hp.
  • Unlike many purpose-built racing engines, the VQ35 is based on a proven production engine architecture, offering excellent durability and potentially significantly longer service intervals.
  • The engine is paired with a robust six-speed Sadev sequential gearbox, operated through the original steering wheel-mounted paddle-shift system.
  • For a junior formula racing car introduced in 2003, this technology was particularly advanced.
  • The suspension features Formula 1-inspired torsion bars, allowing precise chassis setup adjustments. An extensive selection of alternative torsion bars is included in the sale.
Maintenance & Technical Preparation
  • Since December 2022, the car has been maintained with considerable attention to mechanical reliability and preservation.
  • Rather than undertaking unnecessary testing, the owners focused on competitive race participation and preventative maintenance.

The following work has been carried out:

2019–2020
Emtron ECU installed by the previous owner.

2023
New front wheel bearings installed in July.

The car has not been driven on track since the engine oil change in April 2026.

The fire extinguisher certification remains valid until March 2027.

Current Condition

During the 2026 season, chassis 021 was used exclusively for static displays and promotional appearances, with no competitive racing activity.

The engine was last started and operated on 8 October 2026, with video footage available upon request.

Dynamometer test documentation from the team’s Austrian technical partner is also available.

Although the engine and gearbox have not undergone a complete rebuild during the current ownership, both have been carefully maintained throughout their competitive use.

The owners deliberately limited unnecessary mileage, participating in approximately five BOSS GP events annually, with only one free practice session per event and no additional private test days.

Any necessary maintenance or repairs were carried out as required.

A Proven Championship-Winning Formula Car

With two BOSS GP Super Lights championship titles, a vice championship and an extraordinary record of 30 podium finishes from 30 races, chassis 021 offers an impressive combination of racing pedigree, performance and reliability.

Its distinctive Renault F1-inspired livery, powerful V6 engine and advanced technical specification make it equally appealing to collectors and drivers seeking a competitive single-seater for historic racing, track events or private collections.

A genuine championship-winning Formula Renault V6 with an outstanding modern racing record.
